These Terms and conditions (together with the documents referred to within) tell you the terms of use on which you may use the website at www.covidconnectni.com (the “Site”), whether as a guest or a registered user. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before you start to use the Site. By using the Site, you are confirming that you accept these terms and conditions and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please immediately stop using the Site.

This Site is operated by Belfast City Council of City Hall, Donegall Square, Belfast, BT1 5GS (the “Council”).

Information about you

The Council shall process information about you in line with our Privacy Policy [link off]. By using the Site, you agree to the way in which the Council shall process your information.

Use of the Site

The Site is aimed at users from private sector, public sector, third sector and academic organisations that either need support to address a COVID-19 problem or can provide a solution to a COVID-19 problem.

You must make sure that all information you provide is true, correct and complete, and let us know if it changes.

If you contribute to the Site, either as a request for help or an offer of help, you undertake to ensure that your contribution is accurate, relevant and genuine.

You cannot use the Site:

  • for any unlawful purpose
  • for spamming
  • to knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware
  • to submit information that is, or is likely to be, discriminatory, hateful, false, inaccurate, threatening, defamatory, abusive, obscene, indecent, seditious, offensive, pornographic, harassing, profane, sexually oriented, invasive of a person's privacy, liable to incite racial hatred, menacing, scandalous, inflammatory, blasphemous, in breach of confidence, or which may cause annoyance or inconvenience or otherwise be a breach of the law.

Accuracy of information

The Council shall use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that the information on this Site is accurate. The Council makes no representations that information contributed by other users of the Site is accurate, up to date or complete. The Council accepts no liability and offers no warranties in relation to the Site and its content, to the fullest extent such liability can be excluded by law.

Any views expressed in posts or messages on the Site are not necessarily those of Belfast City Council or anyone connected with it.

The Council has no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accepts no responsibility or liability for any information contained within or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

Termination or suspension of use

The Council shall, at its absolute discretion, determine whether there has been a breach of these terms and conditions through your use of the Site. When a breach has occurred, the Council may instigate an:

  • immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the Site; and
  • immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any posting or material uploaded by you to the Site.

Intellectual Property Rights
The Site and all intellectual property rights in it are owned by Belfast City Council, unless otherwise stated. Intellectual property rights means rights such as: copyright, trade marks, domain names, design rights, database rights, patents and all other intellectual property rights of any kind whether or not they are registered or unregistered (anywhere in the world). The Council reserves all of its rights in any intellectual property in connection with these terms and conditions.

Nothing in these Terms and conditions grants you any legal rights in the Site other than as necessary to enable you to access the Site. You agree not to adjust to try to circumvent or delete any notices contained on the Site (including any intellectual property notices) and in particular in any digital rights or other security technology embedded or contained within the Site.

You retain the intellectual property rights in any of your content, products, or services that you offer through the Site. It is your responsibility to make arrangements to safeguard your Intellectual Property Rights.

Availability of the Site
The Council will use reasonable efforts to ensure that the Site is available at all times. However, it cannot guarantee that the Site or any individual function or feature of the Site will always be available and/or error free. In particular, the Site may be unavailable during periods when upgrades are being implemented or essential maintenance is being carried out.

Jurisdiction and applicable law

These terms and conditions are governed by Northern Irish law. The Northern Irish courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to use of the Site.

Variations to terms and conditions

The Council may revise these terms and conditions at any time. The Council may notify you of any such changes by any reasonable means, including by posting the revised version of these terms and conditions on the Site. You can determine when changes have been made to the terms and conditions by referring to the date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the Site following changes to these the terms and conditions will constitute your acceptance of those changes.
